HI
I would like to setup an GI on DNS/GNS.
DHCP and DNS are running fine, DDNS is ok.
When I start the installation of GI I hand over

cluster01.darkwin.net as subdomain and 192.168.100.100 as GNS-VIP Address.

GNS                     A       192.168.100.100
$ORIGIN cluster01.darkwing.net.
@       IN      NS      GNS.darkwing.net.

When the final checks are done, installation fails, as VIP-Addresses can not be resolved.
However, DHCP shows that IP Numbers are delivered.

ORACLE requests to run as root:
/cluvfy comp dhcp -clustername <raca>
Fact is there is no cluster running at all - I'm just in "precheck phase".

I receive the error:
'/tmp/' ...FAILED (PRVG-1901, PRVH-0516)
Verification of DHCP Check was unsuccessful on all the specified nodes.
Failures were encountered during execution of CVU verification request "DHCP Check".
'/tmp/' ...FAILED
PRVG-1901 : failed to setup CVU remote execution framework directory
"/tmp/CVU_21_root_2023-12-02_18-35-10_15154/" on nodes "node1"
Please select a different work area for the framework

Any Ideas?
Thanks a lot
Christian

Welcome to the forum.
Please read the OraFAQ Forum Guide and How to use [code] tags and make your code easier to read.

I would have the DNS records like this,
$ORIGIN cluster01.darkwing.net.
@       IN      NS      GNS.darkwing.net.
GNS.darkwing.net.    IN       A       192.168.100.100
to be certain that there are no issues with relying on any defaults.
Apart from that, how far is the install getting? What do these show you,
crsctl status resource -t
crsctl stat res -t -init

Hi John,

thanks for the reply.
The problem is that GI isn't running at all.
Installation fails, because the interfaces get an IP Address (You can ping and connnect to them).
The DHCP Server lists them in the list with leases, too.

However, if I try to access the IPs via hostname or try an reverse lookup this fails.
Therefore the final checkes of installation fail too.

Thx
Christian

Are you saying that
crsctl stat res -t -init
shows nothing at all? It might help if you run it and copy/paste what you get here. Not forgetting to use [code] tags Smile
