I am trying to create DB via DBCA in Oracle 12.2.0.1.0 using 11.2.0.0 DB template and the creation process got stuck to 85% from more then 24 hours. No Error pop up and No error message is there in wizard.

What i edited in template: Removed <initParam name="compatible" value="11.1.0.0.0"/> this parameter because i am creating DB in Oracle 12c. (this is ok?)

I am bit new to DBA stuff so request you to please help me to get out of this.

It doesn't look like the DB is hung as you were still getting alert log entries until 7:30a today.

Can you connect to the database as sysdba? if you can, you could potentially turn on trace for the all the sessions and see what the database is doing.

No,

From google, i found some points to take care like... (but all in vain)

  • Clear all temp file
  • Install without flash recovery area
  • Delete version compatible parameter from Template used for DB creation and let the oracle decide it.
At last I just uninstall and reinstall oracle in my m/c and it worked properly. Don't know how ? and what was the real problem :/
