Hi everybody,

I'm having a problem in getting the primavera contract management (PCM) working, I stuck in the process of the installation

What I've did in the installation as follows:
1- First I installed Oracle database 11g R2
2- Then I installed Java jdk V 8 update 161 (I've done the configuration of the variable in windows to reflect to Java)
3- After that I installed Weblogic Server V 12
4- After that I installed database of PCM V 14.2 (I added normal user with password)
5- After that I installed the PCM itself
6- After that I deployed expedition

The problem which I'm facing when I browse to PCM it asks me to update the Java as well as never accept the username and password which I did above in #4. if you have the step by step of installation installation that would be good,

I'm sharing with you the issue as you can see it in the below link which I'm facing right now with Java on (Windows 10, IE11) which preventing me to access the PCM
https://www.yogile.com/f52haoc3iq4#21t

anyone is facing this type of issue and is having a solution, please support me

Thank you very much

This isn't an Oracle problem, it is your browser. I find the current releases of IE and Edge unusable because of the sort of problem you are showing. Chrome is often the best because (unlike Firefox) it includes Flash. It does however have problems with CORS that Firefox doesn't. You'll just have to experiment.

Hi John,

First of all, thank you very much for your reply and help. As I understand from your point of view that (IE 11) doesn't support Oracle platform, I searched on the internet and I understood that Chrome doesn't support Java any more, but I did small trick by installing plugin IEtab to allow chrome to support Java but the same problem which I faced in Internet Explorer browser it's blocking the PCM from working. Please if you know how to or anyone I really need this PCM to work and I'll really appreciate all support. thank you very much.

The message that your browser is showing you explains the problem perfectly. The certificate will be a self signed certificate, so of course Chrome rejects it. You need to tell Chrome to accept the invalid certificate. That's all. It isn't an Oracle problem.

Hi John,

I believe in what you are saying. Through my reading in Oracle they recommend using IE. Anyway, I really searched on Google but couldn't find anyone explain what to do, I followed what others did through putting the access link in the Exception list at Java. So could you please explain to me how to tell Chrome to accept the invalid certificate as you mentioned which you will save a lot of time. thank you very much for your help.

Hello Everybody,

As I'm still struggling in solving the problem with Primavera contract management on how to it works under Java in Windows OS. When I logon it asks me to update the java which if I did it wont solve the problem, I did checked the exception in the Java security but this also doesn't help.

I'm offering for anyone who is willing to help me in solving this issue I will give and transfer $100 as this prize for motivation. Thank you very much for anyone who is interested.

Are you asking for consultancy services? If so, a rather more formal approach might gain better results.

However, I am at a loss to understand why you need any assistance in configuring your browser to accept an invalid certificate. This is a trivial operation, specific to each browser, and nothing to do with ORacle.

Hi John,

if it's as you are saying (trivial operation), I would like you to tell and show me how to do it,

I really don't understand (a) why it is so hard for you or (b) why you don't ask on a forum dedicated to your browser or (c) why you have not bothered to put "configuring your browser to accept an invalid certificate" into a Google search.

I've done a lot of research on google, I'm not lazy to come here and ask, so I don't come to forum unless seriously I haven't found a solution by searching on Google, if you know the answer reply otherwise don't bother your self by replying.

So, spoon feeding it is. This is the certificate used by OraFAQ:

/foru/forum/fa/13924/0/

What is the certificate that your website is using?

Hi John,

Actually the primavera contract management doesn't have SSL, so when I checked for certificate it doesn't have as the picture shows that.

If the screenshot is to be believed, then please realize that no remote client can do packet exchange with any system using 127.0.0.1 (localhost)
Are two different systems involved with problem?

If so issue for OS ping commands as shown below from both systems
ping <my_hostname>
ping <other_hostname>
ping <myIP#>
ping <otherIP#>

all 8 commands need to succeed before doing any additional troubleshooting.
