I am using oracle 10g express edition.

I have one server and one client machine with wired network.

The software is running ok onto the server.

But i am unable to connect the client machine's forms with the oracle database installed onto the server pc.

I picked the transnames.ora file from the server pc from the following location:

C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\NETWORK\ADMIN

AND THEN I PASTED THIS FILE AS IT IS INTO THE FOLLOWING LOCATION IN THE CLIENT PC.

C:\orant\NET80\ADMIN

but the forms onto the client machine are not connected to the oracle database of server.

Plus if there is another way rather than replacing transnames.ora file then just guide me about that method.

As you were talking about setting the environment variables.
