Hi,

I have oracle 11g installed in a windows PC, i am trying to connect the database from MAC OS X using TOAD client. I have provided the connections details like hostname, SID, username and password correctly. Is there any connection details or properties needs to be modified in Windows PC to make the connection from Mac OS X successful.

Please provide a checklist to be verified.

Thanks

Oracle database does not know or care about the flavor of OS connecting to it.
Post SQL & results that shows the OS name or version for any specific session ID.

But have you an "Oracle client" not an Oracle client program
Below TOAD there should be a layer called "Oracle client".

You have consistently avoided posting the specific error you got.

If the connection request never left the client, then root cause resides only on the client.
If the connection request got to the listener, then root cause is different from above.

If you want to solve this mystery, then you need to provide many more specific details
