I contacted the Oracle certification program about this beta and was able to communicate with the Program Manager for this exam. Oracle Database Foundations is targeted at people new to Oracle and covers material similar to that taught in university-level 'Database Concepts' courses. I have created a page on my Oracle Certification Prep site for 1Z0-006 with some links to lecture PDFs from relevant university courses that have been made open. The page also has links to a number of videos on YouTube from relevant courses:

I have roughed out a Study Guide for the exam as well and I hope to make it available early in the beta, but that depends on when I can free up enough time to write it and take the exam.

I would note that there is no burning reason to take the beta on the day it becomes available. This will not get you certified any sooner than someone who takes it on the last day of the beta. Take the test when you think that you have a good grasp of the material covered.
