Connection to Oracle db fails System DSN using MS Access 2003 and Oracle database. Using 32-bit ODBC Admin Tool from C:\Windows\SysWOW64\System DSN Windows 2008R2 64bitusing odbcad32.exe. Microsoft ODBC Driver for Oracle 6.01.7601.17514 MSORCL32.DLL 11/20/2010. This works perfectly on a Windows 2003 32-bit server. Does the SQL log attached give any clues?

Every connection request that gets to the listener gets logged; regardless of the success or failure.

post excerpt from listener.log file that shows this ODBC connection request.

If no such entry exists, this means the request never got to the listener & therefore root cause & fix are external to Oracle.

Welcome to the forum. Please read our OraFAQ Forum Guide and How to use [code] tags and make your code easier to read

As for your question, can you explain the situation again? I cannot work out if it is your ODBC client or your Oracle database that is running on 32bit or 64bit Windows. Did you upgrade one or the other or both? Aso, exactly what releases of Oracle products are you running? For example, it is only the terminal release of the 10g database, 10.2.0.5, that is certified against 2008R2.
