Hello, we're currently making new config for ORACLE on CentOS.

We have purchased IBM 3700 Storwize with 3 SSD 200GB and 21 x SAS 600GB. I have done some researches on the Internet and I have found:

1) Do not use RAID 5 for REDO

2) Always use RAID 10 for Datafiles

3) Use RAID 1 for REDO

4) ect

Can u explain me how make best setup?

My idea is to make

RAID 1 for REDO

RAID 1 for ARCH LOG

RAID 1 for OS

RAID 10 (8disk =2,4TB) for Datafiles

RAID 10 (6disk) for another Datafiles)

Raid 1 for redo and RAIDS 10 will be in one volume to enable easytier

Do u think is good setup? Is it good idea to split ORACLE datafiles on 2 RAID groups?

What about RAID 5 for datafiles?
