Hi,

I am wanting to do a backup of a large production system. With this backup I am wanting to update another read only database (copy of the production system) on a daily basis. A cold backup is out of the question because it is a 24/7 system so the 2 options are.

1. Hot backup.
2. Export/Import

What is the best choice? Would prefer to do an Export/Import but is there any way of making sure you get a consistent view of the data eg. when taking an export a transaction is taking place that updates 2 tables and only 1 of these updates takes place (Inconsistency!!).

Regards

Andrew.
