Hello All,
On every year october my database performance will be down with existing data.
Not doing any bulk insertions/updates or any transactions on that month.
but the performance will be down during that time.
Can any body suggest the root cause.
I am trying to find out which oracle CPU Patch applied.
Thanks in Advance,
Kishore

If performance goes down (only) in October, surely you need to isolate what is changed / additional in October.
Additional (once-a-year) reports being executed, causing additional load on the database server ?

How many Octobers has this happened? Is it for the entire month of October (Midnight on 1st to midnight on 31st) or does it miss out the public holidays, what about weekends. What is the nature of the slowdown ;
reports are returned more slowly,
logins take more time
dml takes forever
Do your users notice this or is it just you?
Is anybody on holiday every october.
How much slower? 10% 50% 200%
What have you ruled out so far and why?
Is the database equally zippy for all other months (you say that performance degrades ONLY for October, so presumbly performance is excellent (equally so) across all other months?
Did you get the job for which this was an interview question?
Can you answer me this:
Every year, on the 17th of July, I seem to wake up with a really bad headache. What's the reason for this?

And hopefully, OP's issue has nothing to do with October(10th precisely)
Of course; post hoc ergo propter hoc
