Dear All,

Is it possible to provide access on UTLRP.sql to users. So that they don't require SYS password.

Waiting for your kind assistance..

Regards,
Ishika

No but they can use DBMS_UTILITY.COMPILE_SCHEMA function to compile their objects.

Actually utlrp.sql is a sql-file (in ?/rdbms/admin/) on the db-server.
So if your users can actually login in oracle on the server, they probably can access utlrp.sql, since they allready have a session on the server. (As opposed to connecting to the DB from your local machine)

This being said, the avarage use has not enough privileges to succesfully excecute the package.

I think that the solution Michel Cadot supplies is the right way to go.

You have to be SYS to run utlrp.sql. No user should be SYS.

That's completly right, but I focused a little more on the first part of the question/sentence:
If you are on the system an you are logged on to oracle you can access the scripts in ?/rdbms/admin.

No special access needed.

Access to view the script is one thing. Privilege to run it is a completely different thing Smile
