Hi All

Need to have inputs for query regarding the way SOA 10g works. I am new to SOA and taking understanding of working proj from client 3rd party(Soa Admin), whose comments I want to validate.

We have Order Submit Flow in SOA 10g(AIA 2.4) wherein -

1. The Siebel queues up order in the JMS queue

2. The ESB Consumer on one of the nodes of SOA(AIA), consumers the message & calls other BPELs/ESBs to further complete the order submit flow

2.1 The ESB Consumer is configured to undergo retirals for 12 hours...

Now, the admin told me that if there failure of the flow is due to time out from the down stream(end application), in that case there will not be any retrials for that order flow, and that it is very obvious behaviour of SOA.

Wanted to understand, is it really an obvious behaviour of SOA/ESB i.e. to stop the retiral in case of time outs, and to continue the retirals in case of other kind of errors from end applications.

Let me know if I need to specify more inputs for the query.
