howto contact Steve O'Hearn? Email? Personal homepage?

On Amazon I see rumors that he will relase mid 2014 a MySQL study guide - OCP MySQL 5.6 Database Administrator Exam Guide (Exam 1Z0-883)

It is customary to contact authors through their publisher, in this case McGraw-Hill.

... especially to know if a new release is planned... but I doubt the publisher will tell you unless the current edition is exhausted.

I think that whoever creates the 'teaser' pre-release spots on Amazon for Oracle Press does not actually have sufficient technical expertise to do so. A few months ago, their pre-release on Amazon for 1Z0-061 was created with numerous errors. Since John Watson has previously worked with the author, Roopesh Ramklass, I contacted him about the errors and they have since been corrected.

If anything, the one for Steve's new book is even worse since it indicates the book -- to be released August of next year -- will be about exams that are being retired in about 45 days. It also indicates the book is an 'All-In-One' (which means it covers multiple tests) when actually it seems to cover only a single exam (1Z0-883).

Since 1Z0-882 isn't mentioned anywhere in the spot and a search for it reveals no hits on Amazon, I doubt that an Oracle Press manual is planned for it just yet.

David Stokes from Oracle made some small gossip that the study guide will also cover developer exam. Source official MySQL Forums -> Certification
