Hello

I want to give Oracle RAC Certification Exam(1Z0-048) for 10g

I want to if this exam is still valid?

I am unable to get an idea from following

BTW I working in an environment where all clusteted databases are on 10g and doesn't look like we will upgrade to 11g at least in neraby future

Thanks for your reply

By 'valid' I mean
1) Does Oracle still conduct this exam?
2) Suppose I prepare for this exam keeping date after 2 months to appear for it; will it be obsolete by then like say 8i, 9i exams which Oracle don't conduct now?

In another
I have not worked on 11g RAC;
Will appearing for the 10g RAC R2 exam now (in 2013) is bad idea as there is/might be much difference between 10g and 11g RAC and Oracle might stop support for 10g soon

Finally I need your opinion on if appearing for this exam appear 'out-of-market'?

And there are many differences between 10g and 11g RAC.

So far as I can determine, 1Z0-048 is still offered. It can still be scheduled at Pearson Vue and I don't see any notice about this exam in the recent spate of retirements. While they are retiring a bunch of 9i exams at the end of July, I haven't heard of any 10G certs being retired yet. The page is still available at the Oracle Education site:

Oracle Education no longer offers the courses that were the recommended training for the exam, however.

Ah! There may be some differences depending on the country so. In France, it is no more available but France is a small country and this may explain that.
