I have recently started migration from sql server 2007 to Oracle10g and i want to learn oracle10g and master the techniques in oracle sql plus and pl/sql, do i start with sql plus user reference guide or shall i go for the documents provided by an institute who is authorized by oracle to teach oracle , the y gave me the documents "Oracle Database 10g:Sql Fundamentals 1 student guide volume1,volume2 and volume 3" are these good enough to start with. For Pl/sql they gave me "Oracle Database 10g:Pl/Sql fundamentals student volume 1,Develop program units volume 1 and 2".What could be the best approach to get OCP and skills bettered. Kindly advice.

You should first start with Database Concepts focusing on chapter 10 "Data Concurrency and Consistency" which are completely different from SQL Server default behaviour (but the other chapters are also important).

thanks michael, but after database concepts , which one will i opt for in sequence. I see sql plus user guide is too much to read, than fundamentals provided by training institute.Maybe read the training manuals and in case of reference use user manual. What do you recommend.

You should start with database concept because SQL is fully based on database so it is very useful to you. Then you go for the SQL fundamental student guides. Have you want to do any certification in SQL?
