Hi all,
Everything is in the question. I heard somewhere that there was few people that know why dual is called dual among them Ken Jacobs (Dr DBA). How about the default port 1521 ?

Thanks in advance,

Amine

Ports are allocated for different products and vendors. Oracle chose one (maybe the first one) available at this time.

Have a look at List of TCP and UDP port numbers.

On your server you can have a look at /etc/services.
