free -m
root@localhost ~]# free -m
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 1010 349 661 0 27 212
-/+ buffers/cache: 109 901
Swap: 2047 0 2047
1.I want to know What's the purpose of swap area ..
SWAP never used in my system always showing used space is 0.
2. how can calculate ram used % here ..?
>> how the formula applied here >>
3. Quote:212++27 = 239
349 -239= 110
110+901 =1011 ...[confused]
349 ,109 how it was calculated here ..
i asking little bit explanation 239+110= 349
