Hi there,

I have just downloaded Oracle 11g from the Oracle website.

How do I start enterprise manager?

Sorry for such a basic question, but once I get away from UNIX I don't have a clue what I am doing.

If you can explain the windows bits in very simple basic language that would be great.

I go to the oracle bin directory from a dos window and enter emctl commands, and I get "emctl" is not recognised as an ibternal or external command.

Thanks a lot for any help you can give me.

Did you set ORACLE_HOME and PATH?
Have you a emctl.bat file in this directory?

A good free and online book: Database Platform Guide 11g Release 2 (11.2) for Microsoft Windows

Michel

Thanks Michel, no I haven't.

All I have done is download and install the database.

I'll check the book out.

ardhendu, as I said above any emctl command I get "emctl" is not recognised as an ibternal or external command.
