When upgrading to 10g, what is the requirement for XDB?
According to the docs, the catupgrd.sql script "...also upgrades or installs the following database components in the new release 10.2 database:..." and the list of components includes "Oracle XML Database". Certainly I was under the imprssion that XDB was always installed (or upgraded) as part of the upgrade.
But a colleague insists that if XDB is not present in 9i, it will not be present in 10g after the upgrade.
Can anyone add to this?
Thank you for any insight.
