You had better ask your teacher for the details of how to connect to the University database again, it would seem that you misunderstood: there is no way that copying a file of usernames and passwords to your PC would give you access to it.

So talk to your proffesor.
If you've entered a username and password when installing oracle then that is probably for a oracle DB installed on your pc. It's not going to connect you to your uni DB.

It seems that you should sit back and re-read everything you learnt so far.
As far as I can tell, there's no "mySQL plus". There is "SQL*Plus", which is Oracle's command line tool to access an Oracle database.
Therefore, get familiar with terms and use them appropriately. Don't mix apples and pears because it only makes confusion; maybe you know what you mean, but noone understands you.
