Hi Friends,
My understanding on bugs' consistent/intermittent behavior is as follows:-
bugs are either dormant/consistent depending on proper set of conditions. And in a fixed set of conditions no bug will behave intermittently, it will be either dormant or consistent(depending on the set of conditions).Bugs may behave intermittently if we change the set of conditions. Am I correct?
And I need your suggestion regarding declaring an error as bug. 1. if an error matches all the specification and symptoms (error code,OS,Patch, database version, alert log, tracefiles etc) with a particular bug document in metalink ,can we declare it as a bug ? Or we must contact oracle support to raise an SR before confirming it as a bug?
2.Sometimes we can find most of the symptoms are same, only few symptoms are not matching..Either 1error code is different,or OS version is different etc. can we declare it as a bug ? Or we must contact oracle support to raise an SR before confirming it as a bug?
Regards,
Saikat
