Hello

I want to know the status of Oracle(shutdown,open) on Linux as well as on Windows platform.

Hi

That means there is no way by which we can get the status of database on OS level.
But if I have 6 or 7 databases on my server then should I connect with all of them and then come to know which one is up.

You can make services for each database using startup scripts with chkconfig...
Then simply do
#service scriptname status
