Hi,

$emctl stop dbconsole stops the OEM process.
however,it starts back up on server reboot,how can we prevent that
is emca deconfig the only option?

ls -l /etc/init.d

*NOTHING* happens automagically on *NIX

Search in /etc/init.d if you don't start it.

thanks,
i understand you are refering to gcstartup,
i have local dbconsole configured and also grid control agent installed on the server
i wish to keep grid agent running and local OEM to be stopped across reboots

Since it your system, can configure it any way that you desire.

One technique I have used in the past is to add one new line at the very top of the startup script that says

exit

Then if you ever decide to enable auto-start upon boot, then just remove the top line.
