Hi,

We deleted millions of records from a table.

1.Is it necessary to reorganize a table and index after the deletion of records
from table ? Because i see some change in table size after table and index reorganization.
2.Will re org table and index improve the database performance ?

Can somebody clear my doubts?

Yes Balaji if more DML on table then you can re-org the table.

No,actually what Anil said was correct.I had an experienced on reorganizing tables and then
rebuilding their indexes.But the purpose i raised the question is

1.i want to know more about in detail like how tablespace gains space in tablesapce.
2.What internally happens when we reorganize tables and indexes etc..
