Hello,

look into the alert-log-file.
What does it say??
Perhaps it could be a timeout problem.
Maybe you have to change the retention time.

Best regards

Wolfgang

Replace your rollback segments with more, bigger, ones. And read all of this:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/A87860_01/doc/server.817/a76956/rollbak.htm#414

Thanks John for your suggestion.

Is there any way where we can alter/resize the existing rollback segments? Is this require Database Bounce?

What is the meaning of shrink and optimal?

How can we resize the rollback segments?

Eagerly wating for your suggestion.

I have gon e through the doc and really its very uselful.
My question is different:

1) I have 20 Rollback segments and i have mark all rollback segments STORAGE to MAX UNLIMITED. Still Users jobs is failing with 1555 error.
(ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 7 with name "R04" too
small
ORA-06512: at line 687 )

2) I have gone through various sites and they all are explaining about WRAP and SHRINK and also optimal. I am totally confused with this.

I need a proper guideline and help from your senior members..

I am totally wash in this and not able to understand from where should i start.

Have you run any of the queries given to check how your rollback segments are configured and how they are being used? And queries that show your current transactions and how much undo they are using? The queries in the manual are not good enough. You need to join dba_rollback_segs, dba_segments, v$rollstat, v$transaction, v$rollname, v$session, and more.
Once you know the pattern of undo usage, you can tune the RBSs accordingly.

If you had gone through many sites (including this one) you should know that the very first reason of ORA-01555 is commit inside loops.
Is this your case?
