Hello Expert,

I am working on Index issue and need to validate the structure of the index. Please confirm, does validation lock the Index ?

Do we need downtime or we can do it in normal working hours.

alter index index_name validate structure;

I suppose, you mean ANALYZE, not alter.

There is an ONLINE option for validate structure.

Sorry Michel,

It was mistakenly written 'alter'.

May i please ask what is difference between analyze index with online option and without. I read with online option,no statistics are gathered, the process only validates the integrity of the object.
