I will assume you are running on Linux (corret me if I am wrong).

If you have a firewall running check that port 1158 is open for TCP on IP adress 192.168.1.82. (Or disable your fire wall for testing.)
The command "iptables --list -v" or "iptables -vS" should show you all your firewall rules on most linux boxes.

Run the command "emctl status dbconsole" while logged in as the "oracle" user on linux please paste the output in this forum.

i am having my database on my virtual machine, and i am trying to connect through my local machine Windows XP.

I tried with http and https both

but still not connecting..

there was no error.

it was showing that page not available.

and Surprising thing was that, i tried to connect to EM from another LAN connected windows M/C. it was connecting....

is any problem with my browser?????

You say you can connect from another LAN connected windows machine to enterprise manager on your virtual machine.

I think this means you either have a routing problem or a firewall problem between your local windows machine and your virtual machine. Or you might have proxy-server settings configured in Internet explorer.

Can you connect via "sqlplus user/pass @ 192.168.1.82:1521/ORADB" from your local windows pc to your virtual oracle server ? If you can then you do not have a routing problem, and it is either a firewall problem or you need to change some settings in Internet Explorer->tools->internet options->connections->lan settings regarding proxy servers.

If you cannot connect via "sqlplus" from your local windows machine, but you can from another windows pc, then it most likely is a routing problem and you need to add a route to your routing table on your local windows PC. I am not exactly sure how to do this, but the "route print" command can be used on a windows pc to show you your routing table.

Hope this helps.
