Can any one provide me differences between RAC configuring through scan ip and RAC configuring through DNS
Advantages and Disadvantages of configuring through DNS vs configuring through Scan ip

I've split this from the topic 11gR2 RAC, please try not to hijack other people's topics.

To answer your question:

You should always use the SCAN, whether you are using DNS and static addresses or GNS and dynamic addresses. The two layer listening structure is far superior to the older single layer model. Why? because using the SCAN means that you no longer have to hard-code the topology of the cluster in the LOCAL/REMOTE_LISTENER parameters and (far worse) in every tnsnames.ora file.
