SCAN IP for oracle RAC 11g R2 [message #521772]

I am planning to install oracle RAC 11g R2 on RHEL 5.3. I have 2 RAC nodes and one openfiler NAS. I need to understand how will I configure SCAN IP. Do I need to configure it some where in DSN and OS level or just I need to give this IP and SCAN name while grid install and oracle will create these things? Can some one give a overall steps to configure this or direct me to some documentation where this thing is detailed.

You have to decide whether your various VIPs and virtual hostnames should be statically registered in your DNS, or dynamically assigned with DHCP and resolved by GNS. I am sure beyond all reasonable doubt that you will want to use static registration, rather than implementing the full Grid Plug and Play functionality of GNS.
But it is up to you. You have read the install guide, haven't you? (Correct answer: "yes")

I used the static one. I cud get through the installation. I have some other issues in the installation I will create a new post on the same.
