Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g GC Proxy requirement [message #514939]

Hi,

I have searched this forum but could not find my answer so posting it here.

My question: If my Oracle Management Agent on the Target host is behind a firewall - Do I need to configure the Agent to use a proxy to communicate to OMS on UPLOAD port? Is it a must?

According to oracle documentatoin it says "Configure the Management Agent to use a proxy server for its uploads to the Management Service."

But I am not sure about that. Can someone here please advice?

My setup:

OMS Host (oms+agent+repor): behind a firewall.
Target host (agent): behind another firewall.
OS: OEL 5.3
EMGC: 11g GC

I know that I have to open the ports on the firwall
