hi
can we increase the performance of the database by gathering schema stats regularly? is it recommended to gather schema stats after every week? pls help

Oracle 10g and 11g gather stats automatically every night.
If you're running an older version you should upgrade anyway.

Hi,
I am new to oracle DBA. My database version is oracle 10g(10.2.0.4)As per your advice Oracle 10g and 11g gather stats automatically every night.
But my doubt is whether it gathers schema stats for sys schema or all schema(consists of user objects) for whole database? pls help
