Hello

I am new to Oracle DBA. i want to upgrade my Oracle version from 10.2.0.1.0 to 10.2.0.4.0 but but i dont know what are the correct ways. i read the read me file in the patch set and fallowed the steps but its giving me error e.g. "Error in writing to file D:\Oracle\product\10.2.0.2.0\bin\oraevrus10.dll"
everytime. We have no RAC and Cluster Environment.

please help.

yes sir

i stoped all the oracle services and shut down the databases before installing the patch still the same error is coming. we are doing it on our test database before implementing on to live. if i ignore that error althou the patch gets installed but some servies fail to get start.

Stop all services, all Oracle programs, put all services in manual start mode, reboot the server and reinstall the patch.

Hello Sir

i did as u said but after the Installing patch 10.2.0.4.0 when i creating a new Database with DBCA , it get stucks at 85% and shows me

fallowing error.....

Enterprise manager configuration failed due to the fallowing error -

Error starting the Database Control
Refer to the log file at c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\cfgtoollogs\dbca\Test3\emConfig.log for more details.
