Hello
We are unable to connect to Oracle 11.1.0.7.0 from Oracle Forms 4.5
However we are able to connect using Oracle forms 6i
Now Forms 4.5 is old and not supported, however apart from Tests I will need prove it to the higher ups
Do we have any link, document which will cover such compatibilty issue?

Reason I am asking is am not much aware of D2k/ forms
And Forms 4.5 works with 9i (not aware if work with 10g, please let me know on this)
And form 6i work with 11g
So I concluded that it could be compatibility issue

Apart from queries in my earlier post
What is the solution if to application which is developed with forms 4.5 and want to use 11g database?
Sorry if my question looks stupid. I do not have any knowledge in forms / developer

Why would you even consider using anything other than 11g forms?
You say 6i works but try using some oracle syntax that was introduced in 9i or later (analytics for example, or merge) - forms will not recognize it. Use the version that is closest to the DB version or you will hit problems and oracle's first response will be to tell you to upgrade.

I think 6i will open a Form developed in 4.5. Then save it as 6i, but I would use at a minimum Forms 10g.
