Hi all,

I have started reading and learning Oracle Administration. I am at initial stage. I have just went through first chapter of Database Administration Concepts.

Now can anybody help me by providing url from where I can get PPT which describe Oracle Instance along with all background processes by diagrams?

regards,
Delna

Don't know about PPTs (Power Point presentations, I presume?), but - there are quite a few videos available on YouTube so - take a look.

Link from Sriram does not need any authentication (it does not ask me for one).
Haven't you a personal PC or maybe you have not an Internet connection?

I do have internet connection and that's why I can post my queries in the forum. Smile
Actually, I was asking for PPT because in this way, one can learn things faster as PPTs comes with diagram.

You ask for "which describe Oracle Instance along with all background processes by diagrams".
I think it directly answers the requirement.
You cannot have a description of ALL background processes in a diagram because there are more than 100 ones and it would need a diagram of couple of square yards.

Did you read Database Concepts?

Michel

Do you still need any more material even after my PM ?
If so ,there are so many free file sharing network/websites which can provide Oracle PPts for free of cost Smile

The Interactive guide was really helpful for beginners.

Here's a nice description of executing DML, commit processing, and crash recovery.

Thanks a lot Watson.

This is great. I will keep this with me because I think, this is for future use.

I am searching for PPTs which describe what happens internally when DML statements fired. What processes take part in this. What happens when these processes runs and finally what happens while executing COMMIT and ROLLBACK

regards,
Delna

If this the reason,
Oracle Concept Guide or Oracle student volumes will give you more info without PPTs.
You dont need any PPs for the above mentioned reason
