Are you saying that you want to do a virus scan of the database files, or a scan of the data stored in the database?

So you, actually, want to install anti virus software onto the database server (a computer, not Oracle database itself)?

Now it is clear. So is the answer: do not virus scan Oracle database files. Never! So you must configure McAfee to skip them.

Unfortunatly when it was possible in the previous versions it is no more possible in the latest ones.
If someone found a way to do it, I'm interesting in it; McAfee support told me it is not possible (but can we trust the level 1 support?).

Regards
Michel
