Some good news for a change:
"As of Oracle Grid 11.2.0.2 and Oracle RDBMS 11.2.0.2, both Automatic Storage Management (ASM) and Automatic Storage Management Cluster File System (ACFS) are now certified for SAP kernels 6.40_EX2 and higher on all UNIX and Linux platforms. This certification applies both to Oracle Single Instance and Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC). For more information, see SAP Note 1550133 and the ASM white papers."
