Hello...

i need help...i want to configure my present Data Gaurd Setup with Enterprise Manager...and on the Enterprise Manaher grid control page i am not seeing any Data Gaurd option.....i am using oracle 10gR2 and Windows XP....i tried a lot...

please tell me how to use enterprise manager for configuring Data Gaurd....

You can configuring Dataguard in Grid Control:
Database --> Availability tab --> Data Guard (Add Standby Database)

Thanks for the reply .....but still m not able to see the Availibility tab...in my Enterprise Manager page...

the option tabs which are there on OEM are...Home-Perfomence-Administration-Maintenance

m using oracle10 on windows XP platform....

but,

Do you have to install Database Control or Grid Control?

You cannot manage Data Guard with database control, you must have grid control (afaik).

Grid Control is a separate application you have to download on OTN:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/grid-control/downloads/index.html

Note that this product is NOT free. You have to pay to use it (in the same way that Oracle RDBMS Server).

Great!

No one said I have to download it, lot of helper showing how to install/configure the Data Guard. I thought I have to enable data guard, because I already installed 11g and using EM -- , thank you somuch.
