Hi,

I have installed grid and oracle 11g on linux environment. I want to installation January patch related to grid and oracle 11g. This is the first time i m going to install the oracle 11g.

Could you please suggest the clear steps and site if any for installing the patch related to grid and oracle 11g.

consider reading & following the directions that come as part of every patchset.

Why would you desire to read directions here instead of what comes from Oracle with the software?

I want to apply patch first time.If I know the steps throughly I can include the steps in the shell script so shell script will take care everything.

Is there any old patches steps for oracle 11g and grid.

1) Should I know, apply the grid patch and oracle patch separately?

2) How should I know which patch to be applied? (i m seeing linux86 or linux86-64)

Please advice.
