Hello Guys

Just noticed MR(media recovery lock ) in our database,further check showd all datafiles had this lock since our database was shutdown abortly but was startup gracefully

Please let me know if this lock is harmful and what actions should be done to resolve this

This is normal, it is to prevent someone from, recovering the files while they are open.

"Media recovery locks are held for one of two reasons: to prevent anyone from bringing a tablespace online which is under recovery or to prevent someone from attempting recovery on an online tablespace. Thus they are always present in a database as a protection mechanism"
