URGENT,email notification [message #481577]

Hi,
There is a package which calls an email function which has a mailhost hard coded to an IP address. It had been working fine for the past few years. Suddenly it stopped working. There have been no changes in the networking side and that ip address is relaying allright.
What can cause this?
Please let me know. I need this to work as soon as possible.
