Hi,

I have developed one report but need one formatting suggestion.
There is one field called "DESCRIPTION", I want the value of this field to be displayed in a single line. Now the big values are wrapped into multiple line.

Now,

DISPLAY
----------------
This is a Oracle
Report.

I want,
DISPLAY
------------------------
This is a Oracle Report.

Maxium size of "DISPLAY" field is VARCHAR2(240).
Please suggest.

1) Move the field down a line. So each record in that section will take two lines rather than one.
2) Use a smaller font.

It is not working. I want the value of display in a single line. Also I am using font size 9, which is minimal. Checked with font size 8, but without any luck.

For my own investigation I have changed one property of the "DISPLAY" field, Horizontal Elasticity to Expand. It is too not working.

Where exactly do you expect the field to expand to? If it gets wider it'll just overlap the next field. You've run out of space horizontally.
Here's some other options:
1) Make the report landscape instead of portrait.
2) Remove some fields.
3) Truncate some fields (use substr).

If you can do 1 then that'd be best. Next best would be my first suggestion in the previous post.
