hi,

can any one tell me how to encrypt 9i database-link passwords?
In 10g when we browse the link it show **** but in 9i it shows the
actual password. Any workaround?

Thanks in advance

Sad nothing possible? I have found metalink note 312190.1 describing possibility. But will be interested if something else
can be done. Thanks Michel for update.

Yes this note gives a workaround (why don't you post it before?).
It allows to hide the password from standard user. Is this what you want?
What does not it answer to your issue (I think it does not as you asked for something here)?

Yes, but i am looking for any workaround so that user who owns the dblink couldn't see the password either.

This is not possible unless you remove or change USER_DB_LINKS view.
Only do this with the backing of Oracle support.
