Hi I want to monitor the performance of my database during particular periods like transactions,memory usage,I/o's reads,cpu usage.Should I use AWR and ADDM for this as I dont have enterprise manager?

Yes, you can use DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPOSITORY for instance.
