Hi,
I am trying to resolve load isses on 2 RAC systems
Can someone please elaborate on the feasibility of following process:-
Server1 = 5 RAC installation
Server = 2 RAC installation
a) At 2200 hrs: Change Server1 RAC conf to release 1 node
b) At 2230 hrs: Plug this additional 1 nodes to Server2
c) At 2300 hrs: Initiate processing on Server2
d) At 0500 hrs: Release rented node from Server2
e) At 0530 hrs: Add rented node back to Server1
f) At 0600 hrs: Server1 again ready with 5 RAC
I want to explore options using which I can ensure smooth addition and deletion of node from a RAC. I intend to utilize at least 1 server of a 5 RAC system solely to add more cpu power and memory
Thanks and regards,
Ankur

Hi - the terminology you are using (such as "5 RAC system") is not what I am used to, but I think you have two RAC databases: one is running on a two node cluster, the other on a five node cluster. You want to take a node from one cluster and add it to the other for a few hours, then move it back.
The answer must be to consolidate the clusters into a single 7 node cluster, and define instances for both databases on all nodes. Then you can start or stop them whenever you want. Does that make sense?
