Dear members

I am working on oracle 8.1.7 enterprize edition. I have installed it on window XP. But know the window xp has currupted and i was unable to repair it. My Oracle installation folder for oracle 8i is still on my d:\ drive. I did not take backup for last few months by using exp command. So i have installed the fresh XP window and want to get the previos data from previos databse installed on d:\.

Please tell me how can i achieve this task.

Thanks & Regards.

Dear Michel
Before the OS corruption the oracle is working quite well.
And its location in computer is d:\orant\oradata\orcl where the database files are located.

Reinstall in the same directory and use oradim to create a service for your database.

Dear Yasir
No i did not create the service by oradim. I have given the SID "ORCL" as i give the SID in previous database during the installation.

As I said you MUST do it.
Without the service the database is not reachable.
