to throw manual error message, if ftp connection timed out [message #446266]

hi all.,

i have a requirement like, am connecting to a server and transfering a file through ftp....

suppose if the the server is present and it is not responding,the program tries for 2 mins and then the program automatically throws an exception like ftp:connection timedout...

but i need to handle that exception, and manually thrrow an error message... if the connection takes more than 30 seconds i need to therow an error message.,

is ther any ways to achieve this... pls help someone... its really urgent....

How ir this related to Oracle?

Please read OraFAQ Forum Guide and do no use IM speak and words like urgent (why is there something urgent for us to help you? Do you ever see someone in a forum saying it is not urgent? urgentcy is irrelevant in a forum) but feedback to those that help you.

Try Perl if you want more control than your FTP client provides.
