Hi,

What is the difference in downloading Oracle software (not for commercial use) from

http://edelivery.oracle.com

http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/index.html

I can see a difference in format of files but is there any other differences?

For example for Oracle Database 10.2.0.1.0 :

http://edelivery.oracle.com/EPD/Download/get_form?egroup_aru_number=8944829

http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/index.html

Just for clearing my understanding

It means downloading

In this case which is the preferred method or location from above for downloading and further installing Oracle Software?

I hope this question is not appearing sillier. I am just getting my doubt cleared

The one you want or is used to use.
I used to download from OTN, so always get it from it.
I think if there is an update (in documentation for instance) in basic, it might be in OTN not the official eDelivery which as the commercial site, must guarantee to be stable.
