I have installed Oracle 10g with Oracle Virtual Database. I am trying to run netca to connect to the Active Directory and get the following error: The Assistant is unable to create or upgrade Oracle Schema for the following reason: oracle.net.config. ConfigException: TNS-04420: Problem running LDAPMODIFY. You may need to upgrade directory schema from a specific computer which directly supports your directory type.

Huh?.. Anyway, a search turns up nothing and I am stuck. Anyone know how to make this work? netca is supposed to create and Oracle schema and then Oracle Context for the Windows Active Directory but I can't get past this point and can't find instructions on how to do it outside of netca.

Thanks!

Candy

Just try 11g documentation.

http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/win.111/b32010/active_dir.htm

The earlier message may only denote partial success:

Quote:
The Assistant is unable to create or upgrade the Oracle Schemafor the following reason: ConfigException: Oracle Schema creationwas successful, but Active Directory Display Specifier creationfailed.oracle.net.config.ConfigException; TNS-04420: Problemrunning LDAPMODIFY
Click OK, then click Finish.

If you receive the preceding error, disregard the message and re-run NetCA using the originally supplied values.

The wizard should complete denoting successful Directory configuration:

Directory usage configuration complete!
The distinguished name of your default Oracle Context is:
cn=OracleContext,DC=home,DC=com
Click Next, then click Finish.

Also try oracle document id 361192.1

Of course I followed the 11g documentation you mentioned. But I got the error I described below, which isn't addressed in the documentation. Where do I find your reference oracle document id 361192.1?

Thanks!

%Maybe yu have not the same version and the solution won't be the same one.
I suggest you create your own topic and explain your problem.

Did you try Babu's solution?
