Hello,

During duplication of database using RMAN utility, why the duplicate db open with RESTLOGS option?

It is because of redo log files which RMAN didn't backed up or something else. Also do i need to create Temporary file? (have to create in 10gR1 )

Regards,
Vish

Any incomplete recovery needs RESETLOGS option.
RMAN Duplication is incomplete recovery.

Have not checked it in 10gR1, but in 10gR2 tempfiles are recorded.
So tempfiles are created for you with proper settings.

Adding to Mahesh's post:

After duplication, you need to add the files to the temp tablespace.
