Oracle report is OK, it shows croatian letters . When I choose Generete to File - PDF, it is saved as PDF but with wrong croatian letters(letters Š,Đ and Ž are OK, others are not) .

Other (PDF manuals, etc.) PDF files Acrobat Reader shows OK (croatian letters).

In report I used Arial CE and Arial Narrow CE letters.

Anyone had similar problem? (and solved it) Wink

Thanks! Smile

In attachment is document properties (File/Properties in Acrobat Reader) of that PDF document. It seams to me that "that thing" which have to turn report to PDF, doesn't recognise Arial CE fonts so it changes them to "Adobe Sans MM". WHy ?? Sad

hey,

when you distribute report into PDF, oracle reports replaces original font with "Bodoni Book BT"...

try this:

- install font "Bodoni Book BT"

- write at the end of file UIFONT.ALI (folder ...\tools\common or ...\tools\common60)

[ PDF ]
"Times New Roman" = "Bodoni Book BT"
"Times New Roman CE" = "Bodoni Book BT"
"Arial CE"= "Bodoni Book BT"
"Arial" = "Bodoni Book BT"
"Courier New" = "Bodoni Book BT"

OR probably you can also make use of font subsetting... BUT... Confused ...

font subsetting and font embedding are "supported' by reports from reports 9.0.2 and greater (9.0.4 / 10.1.2 / 11.1.1)... Sad

have a looksee at this... its a long shot but i hope it somehow helps... Razz ...

I did that , but still no Ć an Č letters.
I used Arial CE and Arial Narrow CE in report.
I wrote in Uifont.ali what you said. Result is in attachment.

We use release 6i so font subsetting is not my option.

I am going to explore link you send , maybe I find something useful there .

Thanks! Razz

Here is other attachment, my second try.
I used here exactly Bodoni Book BT fonts.

Attached picture is mix of :
1. report result (in PDF format),
2. property of that PDF document,
3. PDF section from Uifont.ali
4. and Fonts folder from which is visible that Bodoni Book BT font is installed . Also "Bodoni Bk BT Book" font is installed.

But, I get diverse result (depending of uifont.ali).
When I write :
[ PDF ]
"Times New Roman" = "Bodoni Bk BT Book"
"Times New Roman CE" = "Bodoni Bk BT Book"
"Arial CE"= "Bodoni Bk BT Book"
"Arial" = "Bodoni Bk BT Book"
"Courier New" = "Bodoni Bk BT Book"
to uifont.ali, in PDF properties (attachment in previous post) is visible that Actual Font is Bodoni Bk BT Book.

When I write
[ PDF ]
"Times New Roman" = "Bodoni Book BT"
"Times New Roman CE" = "Bodoni Book BT"
"Arial CE"= "Bodoni Book BT"
"Arial" = "Bodoni Book BT"
"Courier New" = "Bodoni Book BT"
Actual Font is not Bodoni Book BT. While creating PDF, it changes actual font to Adobe Sans MM (as seen in attachment).

Confusing Sad .

But no Ć and Č letters in both cases so I will ignore that and move on Wink .

With CutePDF (virtual printer) it works (I send report to virtual printer and it creates PDF, which is OK) so I think we will have to use that option .

No, I didn't. But I send my PDF to one man here in Croatia, he said that he see fonts OK. I don't. It seams to me that it depends of what fonts are installed on PC. Maybe he has some fonts I don't.
I'm still investigating that...

1.convert uifont.ali to ASCII
2.in the uifont.ali file entry is:
[PDF:Subset]
"font_name" = "font_file_name"

for example in my language:

[PDF:Subset]
"標楷體"="kaiu.ttf"

It's sure be work! good luck Smile
